What Makes a Tea an Oolong Tea?

There are 3 main distinct types of tea which can be generally categorized as follows:

a) Green Tea: is treated or boiled following picking to prevent the leaves from oxidizing and retaining their natural colour.

b) Black Tea: is left to oxidize following picking, that’s how it gets their distinctive colour.

c) Oolong Tea: the raw leaves are sun-wilted and then bruised, which exposes their juices to the air, so the leaves oxidise and start to turn brown like a cut fruit. They are allowed to oxidise only partially, giving them a rich, floral flavour. The tea is then dried fully; locking in the rich flavors that oolong tea is known to offer. Oolong’s unique drying process creates a tea that has many metabolic stimulating attributes

Oolongs range from bright green and slightly fermented to dark-leafed and hearty. The greener varieties are less fermented. Oolong tea therefore comes in a wide range of tastes and aromas from teas very close in taste to green tea to those very close to black tea.

Health Benefits

Oolong tea burns over 157% more fat than Green Tea – and therefore becoming the most popular teas designed to accelerate weigh loss.

Drinking two cups of Oolong tea every day not only helps shed stubborn pounds by boosting your metabolism, but also blocks the fattening effects of carbohydrates.

Wulong tea promotes beauty and health – Oolong tea contains a large quantity of polyphenol which:

•	promotes strong, healthy teeth;

Teas are amazing drinks and vital for natural weight loss by detoxing. Teas are capable of providing several different benefits while you follow your detox regimen. They can cleanse your body, fortify your system against pollutants and can even prevent parasites.

Herbal Detox Tea is your first step in cleansing your colon and detoxifying the liver. The Herbal Detox Tea is blended with all natural herbs that support a healthy liver and clears congestion in the liver and the colon. By doing this, it helps to support a healthy digestive system and fortifies your body against toxins and pollutants.

Another vital part of natural weight loss by detoxing is cleansing the kidneys and urinary system. Natural Cleans Tea is a natural blend of herbs that promotes regularity and treats constipation. It also helps to detox the kidneys and urinary system while supporting healthy digestive function. Natural Cleanse Tea is the same formula that many cultures have used for balancing their systems throughout history.

In addition to these two teas, you can also make your own detox teas at home for natural weight loss by detoxing. As we know, the colon is capable of holding pounds of sludge and build-up. This not only makes you sick, but it also contributes to weight gain. Colon cleansing is an important part of natural weight los by detoxing. Depending on the strength of colon cleansing that you need, you can brew five different types of teas.

For maximum colon cleansing, combine two cups of water with a teaspoon of senna leaf, cascara sagrada leaf and chamomile. Simmer for no longer than one or two minutes or until it turns a lit tea color and drink a cup in the morning and night. Senna leaf is not to be used more than twice a week as it is an irritant and can become addictive.

For a light cleanse, combine three cups of water, a chopped apple, 5 figs and prunes and stevia to taste. Simmer with lid on until the fruit is soft and drink the juice.

There are a variety of other teas that can be brewed for colon cleansing as well. However, many people suffer from parasites and this can be a contributing factor in weight gain. In order to remove and prevent parasites, it’s important to use a detox tea to improve your natural weight loss by detox. Indian Tea is ideal for the prevention of parasites, particularly when traveling internationally. To brew, combine 4-5 whole cardamom pods, ½ stick of cinnamon, 2 tablespoons of fennel seeds, 10 whole cloves, 5 drops of black walnut tincture, 1-2 packets of stevia, vanilla or almond extract to taste. Boil in a quart of water until the tea tastes strong. You can add chamomile to enhance the flavor.

Herbal Detox Tea and Natural Cleanse Tea are available through Martha’s Vineyard Holistic Retreat in the online store. You can also find 21 Pounds in 21 Days which includes a variety of recipes designed to enhance your natural weight loss by detox, as it outlines the detox program and the variety of healthy detox teas that you can make at home.

Music Lyrics List

Since the rise of the humble teabag which was introduced to the UK by Tetley Tea in 1953, the art of making a real cup of English tea has been on the decline, with many ‘tea drinkers’ choosing to mash their tea in a mug. Of course back in the Victorian times, taking tea was more of an event; with the ‘tea maker’ even mixing a blend of tea leaves them selves. Interestingly, the first tea bag recorded was in around 1908. Introduced by a gentleman called Thomas Sullivan, from the USA. The Victorian connoisseurs of tea must have rejected the idea. After all, the Victorians enjoyed the whole event of tea drinking and chattering – why would they want to speed up the process?

To make a real cup of tea you will need…

A quality blend of tea leaves. Loose tea is best, however a good brand of tea bags will suffice. (Remember if the tealeaves were cheap – the tea will taste accordingly) If you choose to use leaves you will also need a tea strainer.

You will also need a kettle full of boiling water, a teapot, a teaspoon, a china mug or cup and saucer, milk and sugar to taste.

First pour around a quarter of a pint of the boiling water into the teapot. Put the lid on the teapot and swill the hot water around inside the teapot before pouring the water out of the spout and down the sink. This is called ‘Warming the Pot’.

Warming the teapot ensures that when the teapot is filled with water for making tea, that the water will remain hot and wont loose any heat tot he teapot. Keeping the tea water hot not only keeps the finished tea at an optimum temperature for drinking, but also helps with the tea brewing itself. Piping hot water aids the tealeaves to effuse.

One the teapot is hot, you should add the tealeaves. The general rule is to add a teaspoon of loose tea or a teabag for every person who will be taking tea, plus ‘One for the Pot’. Therefore, if five people are taking tea, you should add six teaspoons of tealeaves or six teabags to the teapot.

Now pour on the boiling water. You should add enough water to fill everyone’s teacup. Put the lid on the teapot to retain the heat. Leave the teapot to stand for two minutes.

Then remove the teapot lid and stir the tea with a spoon. Replace the lid and again leave it to stand two more minutes. The tea is now ready for pouring.

China cups are best for drinking tea from, which is why the Victorians chose to drink from beautiful china tea sets. It just makes the tea taste better.

Controversy has arisen as to when the milk should be added to tea. Some people saying that the milk should be poured in first and others saying that the tea is poured first. Obviously as a nation we have got used to brewing tea in a mug. This way the tea is always added first. However, to make a real cup of English tea the milk is always added to the cup first, followed by the tea.

Sugar is than added last to taste. A sugar bowl is necessary because it largely depends on the size of the cup as to how much sugar you will take in your tea. The larger the cup or mug the more sugar you may need. Of course with just a small china cup you need far less sugar.

When the tea has been poured, the teapot should be again filled with boiling water in readiness for a second serving. Stir the tea and replace the lid and cover the teapot with a tea cosy to keep the tea piping hot. By the time you have drunk your first cup of tea, the second batch of tea will be ready for pouring.

We should bring back the art of tea making. It’s a relaxing social event that everyone young and old can enjoy. Funny isn’t it how we buy little girls pretty little tea sets to make imaginary tea for their dollies, and yet as adults we have removed the fun and we just sling a teabag in a mug. Join the campaign and dig out your teapot and treat yourself and your friends and family to a real English cup of tea and a chat, today.

Aid List

If you’ve never experienced White Licorice tea, you’re in for a real treat. White licorice tea is a blend of the finest loose white tea and star anise to provide the licorice flavor. For many years, white tea was consumed almost exclusively in Asia, but today it has gained popularity in many other countries.

White tea is different in several ways from other teas. White tea is harvested before the leaves are fully open, when the buds have fine white hair covering them, which is why it’s called white tea. This is much earlier than other teas are harvested. In addition, white tea leaves are not fermented. Their leaves are simply steamed and then dried, often right in the fields. This protects white tea’s flavor.

In addition, white tea is far rarer than other teas. This is because white tea can be plucked just once a year, in the spring. Because white tea is so rare, it is quite a bit more expensive than black teas, which are plucked several times during each growing season. In fact, historically, white tea was reserved for only the most special of occasions.

It was used for the highest tea ceremonies, serving dignitaries and often for weddings. However, for many years it was not regarded as an everyday beverage.

White tea also is lower in caffeine than other teas. White tea contains about 15 mg of caffeine per serving, while black tea contains 40 and green tea contains 20.

Finally, white tea is very different in flavor from other teas. Because the tea buds are plucked so young, and because the tea is not fermented, the flavor of white tea is far more delicate than other teas. It also has a sweeter flavor than other teas, and is paler in color. In addition, white tea has very little aroma.

The licorice in white licorice tea is also different than you’ll find in many other licorice teas. Most licorice tea is flavored with licorice root. However, white licorice tea is flavored with star anise. Star anise provides a lighter and slightly sweeter licorice flavor, for a more mellow taste. White tea and star anise are a particularly elegant and delicious together.

White licorice tea is a very healthy beverage alternative. Because of its mellow flavor, it appeals to even those who find other teas too strong. And, because white tea is not fermented, it retains more of its anti-oxidants than fermented teas.

Anti-oxidants are important to protecting our health because they neutralize free radicals in our bodies. These free radicals are naturally occurring oxygen containing molecules that are a by product of our digestive processes. However, without enough anti-oxidants in our bodies and from our diet to neutralize the free radicals, they can damage our cells. Their damage results in premature aging and many forms of disease.

Because of the potent anti-oxidant power of white tea, it has been shown to prevent cancer, heart disease and high blood pressure. In addition, white tea may have the power to help you lose weight and may be able to help regulate blood sugar and prevent or relieve symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.

Finally, white tea has been shown to be the most effective of all teas at improving the immune system. It has been shown fight bacteria and infection.

In recent years, there has been a great deal of research performed on the health benefits of green and white tea, both of which are unfermented. Study after study has shown that lifelong consumption of white or green tea can significantly reduce the signs of aging and prevent many forms of disease.

Some studies have even shown tea to be an effective treatment for patients already suffering from some of these diseases, when used in combination with traditional medicine. It’s likely that traditional medicines are more effective when patients consume tea, too.

Licorice has long been renowned for its ability to calm the stomach from many different stomach ailments. It has been used to relieve morning sickness, motion sickness and colic in babies.

The combination of white tea’s immune boosting ability and licorice’s ability to calm the stomach makes white licorice tea a thoughtful and helpful gift for anyone undergoing chemotherapy.

You may have difficulty locating true white tea made from the best loose white tea and whole pieces of star anise. Few companies create this delicacy in exactly this combination. And, if you do find it, expect to pay a bit more for it than for lesser quality white teas or teas made with licorice root.

When you do find really good white licorice tea, you’ll find that it tastes great whether enjoyed hot or cold. Bring fresh cold water to a boil and let it cool for a minute. White tea should be brewed at a temperature just below the boiling point, and steeped for about three minutes.

White licorice tea is not very compact, so you’ll need to use a bit more of it for a flavorful cup. Two teaspoons per cup will satisfy most people, but you can adjust to your tastes.

White licorice tea is likely to become one of your favorite teas. It’s a rare combination of two healthy, delicious and natural products.

Dating My Match

Green tea is no doubt very useful and advantageous for our health. But since it contains caffeine, therefore there is always a doubt. So before starting to consume green tea you should check all of its pros and cons.

Here we give you the entire list for the disadvantages of drinking this kind of tea:

Too much caffeine can cause nausea, insomnia or frequent urination. Scientists have warned the users that intake this tea in large amounts can pose danger to the kidney as well as the liver. Derived products from this kind of tea can pose a threat to your health as they contain polyphenols in large quantities. Pregnant women have been advised to lower their intake of these types of teas or eliminate it from your diet completely. EGCG can interfere with the child’s growth which can create complications.

Green tea is strictly prohibited for pregnant women. This is because the compound EGCG can severely affect the way in which folate is working in the body. Apart from EGCG another compound named methotrexate also affects the body when it reacts with an enzyme called DHFR. Otherwise in normal people this chemical helps fighting against the cancerous growths in cells.

In pregnant ladies only reducing the amount in which it is consumed cannot minimize the effect of these chemicals. The other risks, which it poses in a pregnant lady, are:

Low birth weight Premature birth In some cases fatal death.

But such severe side effects were witnessed in cases of high intake.

Green tea can pose various side effects for you if:

You are sensitive to caffeine: If this is the case with you then restlessness, irritation, sleeping problems, tremors, heart palpitations and loss of appetite can be the problems you can face. You have a sensitive stomach: Stomach related problems are very common with people consuming green tea. So you should add more milk and sugar if you notice these symptoms. You are young: Young children are advised not to drink coffee or tea because their body may not be comfortable and it may over stimulate them.

Green tea when consumed in average volume has no threats. But, it’s fair to warn you what the complications could be. Just like with most things, too much of a good thing can be bad, and the same is true for green tea.

Debt loans

The mini refrigerator has become a life saver for many college students on today’s campuses. It is great to have in your room to hold cold drinks and snack foods. Many times a student who has to study over night for the final exams needs some nourishment to keep them going. It seems that we are in a world of soda pop and pizza instead of coffee and cigarettes.

Many students do not smoke which is a good thing for health reasons and often or not do not drink coffee. The substitute for this is usually a soda pop, health drink, and a piece of pizza or perhaps popcorn. This is a better way for any student to get nourishment while they are trying to study. The only way they can keep cold drinks handy and other food items is by having their own mini refrigerator.

Mini refrigerators are made to hold cold drinks only but some are made with a freezer unit and a bit larger that enables them to hold not only drinks but food. Since the frozen food industry has created many entrée’s that can be used in the microwave heating them up instantly the student finds that a small refrigerator is very useful while they are in their dorm room on campus. Studying is not the only reason to keep cold drinks and food handy for some students like to have over friends and watch a sporting event. The smaller refrigerator is a most welcome appliance for the average college student.

Beauty Health Unit

But the fact is that we all, including our children, consume way more salt -or rather, the sodium – than we should.

Why should we care how much salt (sodium) our children consume?

Too much salt (sodium) creates risk for high blood pressure and higher risk for heart attack. And, we women know salt’s affect on bloating! The eating habits of our children will continue in their adulthood – and all too frequently less healthy than they were reared when they face busy schedules they haven’t expereinced before.

What is the recommended daily intake of salt (sodium)?

The adult recommended daily intake of sodium in the U.S. is less than 2,400 mg. But, you may be interested to note the the daily recommendation in the UK is less than 1,600 mg! That’s quite a difference.

So, who do you trust?

It doesn’t take much shopping and looking at the nutrition information on foods to find that they hold a LOT of sodium.

I personally think that the government’s recommendation of sodium intake is influenced by prepared food production.

I think that they’ve taken into account how American’s can reduce sodium intake without too much impact on the economy.

But, then again, depending on which association you check, you’ll find different recommendations from them all.

There are no intake recommendations for children, but I think that they are important due to the formation of eating habits that I mentioned above.

So, what’s a person to do?

Of course, a person should follow the advice of his/her doctor.

But, for me – a healthy adult with great blood pressure – I just use my common sense to guide me.

Tips for easy, common sense salt reduction:

Use less salt than recommended in a recipe. I’ve never found it to affect the taste. Most of the time I totally leave it out – especially if it’s accompanied by a product that already contains salt/sodium. Don’t let your kids salt at the table. The only time salt is on my dinner table is when company is over. I think that my two younger kids don’t even realize that people salt their food at the table. If you do decide to let your kids have additional salt – put it on for them. It comes out faster than they realize and it’s hard to see! Check the nutrition label of every food that you buy. You will quickly become aware of how much sodium is in cereal, bread, canned goods, bacon, frozen foods, etc. Having an awareness of how much sodium you are consuming will make reduction much easier Buy low-salt or low-sodium versions of a product. Why eat the extra sodium when you’ll adjust to the difference in taste (if any) in a few bites? Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. Substitute salt with other spices that will give food flavor without adding sodium

Forming good “salting” habits now, will make things a lot easier for your children in the future. Do it for them, and you’ll be doing it for you too!

Events King

Preparing homemade baby food does not have to be one of those unpleasant chores you hate doing, such as the laundry. It is very easy to whip up homemade baby food for your child, especially if you plan on making big batches of different foods for the upcoming months. In as little as 2 hours or less, you can have enough frozen food purees to feed your baby for the next couple of months.

If you are not considering batch making, you can still whip up baby food easily while you are already preparing food for yourself or for your family. Just set aside cooked unseasoned food portions such as vegetables, chicken, fish etc. and pop it in a blender right before you are ready to sit down for your meal.

Cooking Techniques

Steaming – the best way to prepare baby food as it preserves the most nutrients and antioxidants than microwaving or boiling.

Baking – retains lots of nutrients and is a time saver when you want to set it and forget it! Big batches of baby food can be made in the oven such as sweet potatoes, potatoes, chicken parts, fish, meat, squash, zucchini, and more.

Boiling – If you can avoid boiling food, please do. Boiling can destroy nutrients when overcooking and water soluble vitamins often seep out into the water and out your food.

Microwaving – this is the least preferred method when making homemade baby food! Microwaving destroys antioxidants found in fresh produce.

Food & Kitchen Safety

It is important to be careful when making baby food to prevent food poisoning. Baby food must be prepared and stored properly, especially while your baby is very young. When adding water to baby puree, it is important to make sure the water is sterile. Using bottled mineral water is not the same as boiled water! Mineral water can contain bacteria and may contain more sodium than what a baby needs. It is best to use cooled boiled tap water when adding water to purees or when giving water to your baby in general.

Here are a few important tips when preparing food for your baby:

- Wash counter tops, kitchen utensils, and the kitchen sink with soap and water before and after preparing food — this ensures that no bacteria is lurking around. It is better to be safe than sorry.

- Keep raw meat, poultry, seafood, and eggs separate from fruits and vegetables. Do not use the same kitchen utensils including knives and cutting boards. Be sure to wash all equipment thoroughly.

- Wash your hands! Always, always, always wash your hands before and after preparing food and don’t forget to wash baby’s hands too!

- Always use clean towels to dry off kitchen utensils, equipment, and babyware.

- Date your food when freezing or refrigerating it.

- Use baby food within 24 hours after thawing or storing in the refrigerator.

- Never reheat baby food more than once.

- Throw out food that is half-eaten, unless you scoop out portions with a clean spoon into a container you will feed your baby from.

Financial Advice

Nowadays, defective drugs being produced by several pharmaceutical companies seems to be on the rise and if left unchecked could prove to be dangerous to consumers. If you notice, a lot of warnings or recalls are being issued by either, the Food and Drug Administration or the pharmaceutical company themselves, because of drugs which have caused partial or major damage to the body of the consumer taking them.

Although there were several drugs which have met expectations by the consumers who take them, there are still a whole lot of drugs which have been proven to have dangerous side effects which could jeopardize the health of its users.

It should be noted that some of the side effects of these recalled drugs are to some extent, life threatening and oftentimes, the pharmaceutical companies who manufacture these drugs already know the dangerous effects their drugs would cause. However, they still continue to produce these drugs because they are used to counter other drugs produced by other companies for the same ailment or indications and, to a large extent, because of the profit that they could generate from these drugs regardless of the dangers it may cause to the unsuspecting public.

Some of these manufacturing companies have even resorted to committing felony by suppressing evidence about the side effects of their manufactured drugs so that the FDA will approve their release. These fraudulent actions by some pharmaceutical companies often result in hastily produced drugs that caused a lot of injuries to its users. These users, after feeling that they have been duped into patronizing the drugs have filed multimillion dollar class suits against these companies because of undue negligence and fraud.

It is deplorable that these pharmaceutical companies would manufacture a poorly researched drug at the behest of its corporate executives just to compete with another drug giant for the sake of financial gain without giving any thought to its probable harmful effects. Although some pharmaceutical companies did recall some of their drugs after discovering that it causes harmful side effects, the question on why would these industry giants manufacture a drug then recall it two weeks after it was released to the market boggles the mind.

Two weeks on the market is a lot of time where countless consumers may have bought the drug in the ardent hope that it will give them relief or cure against their ailments when in fact, the side effects could cause permanent damage or worse, give rise to some life threatening ailment to the user.

Financial Advice
